Klaipeda Puppet Theatre is organizing the 9th Puppet Theatre Festival which will be held on the 25th-28th of May, 2017 in Klaipeda, Lithuania. It is the only professional and international visual theatre festival in Western Lithuania. Born in the young and creative minds of puppet theatre students of the Klaipeda University back in 1997, in the years it has grown into an open and diverse platform for native and foreign artists to present their creative work, as well as a vibrant meeting-point to get in touch with colleagues from other countries, theatres, and schools to share their knowledge, experience, and ideas about possible collaborative projects.

Tarptautinis lėlių teatrų festivalis „Karakumų asilėlis“ – tai vienintelis ir išskirtinis profesionalių lėlių teatrų festivalis Klaipėdos krašte. Pagrindinis organizatorių siekis yra populiarinti lėlių teatro meną. Be tradicinių vaidinimų jame stengiamasi pristatyti ir novatoriškus lėlių teatro projektus, atskleidžiant lėlių teatro meno galimybių įvairovę, atveriančią savitą asociatyvaus mąstymo būdą, nulemtą prigimtinių tautos savybių, padedančių giliau pažinti pasaulį, žmogų, jo istoriją.
